READING: Read for 10 minute each night. I ask that you sign a Reading Log each night that you and your child read together. Please send your child's reading log back to school on Monday.
The reading log is due the next Friday. Your child will have been expected to read 100 minutes for that week. This should add some flexiblitly to do some reading over the weekend because I know we all have those week nights that can get chaotic. In addition, your child may have a math page, at home project, or an additional reading activity. In your child's binder there is a homework pocket.
Reading at Home A minimum of 60 minutes of reading per week is required in first grade. Your childh has their own login to Raz-Kids where they have leveled books on their independent level. If you do not have access to technology at home, paper books and a paper reading log will be provided for you.
